My week started out pretty normally.  However there was excitement in the air.  I knew that there were two big events coming up for me.  The first was that on Tuesday I pick up the first generation iphone.  Let me say that I LOVE IT!  I had trouble setting it up.  That was my own stupid fault because I left the previous owners sim card in it.  But once I got my sim card in it I was able to activate it and start using it.  I am still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles but I love it.  The phone has almost everything I could ever want in a portable device.  I think I would love to have the 3G speed and more importantly the GPS navigation but I am very, very satisfied. (plus I am not locked in for another two years before I can upgrade to version 3 of the iphone!!!

The bigger of the events this week was my ordination last night.  I must say I am still in awe of the whole service.  To be a part of an ordination is special to be the one who is ordained is priceless.  To have the gathered church body around me in celebration of all my accomplishments and the ministry that is before me is just awesome.  I know that I am lucky where the two biggest ceremonies in my life (wedding and ordination) have gone without a hitch.  It was pure celebration and excitement.

I found out this morning that my picture along with an interview was in today’s local paper.  It is also online for those who would like to read it.  I love the title of the articles.

Amidst all the craziness I have spent more time getting ready for my ordination and now I feel more free to focus my energy on getting to know the people of St. Mark’s and to expand upon my ministry here.

Baby Girl was given “giggle juice” before she left us.  It was tylenol and some other drug to relax her so she was not screaming [...]]]> Praise God for a successful surgery yesterday!  It was a long day but I am so glad for the doctor, nurses and all the hospital staff that were so nice to us.

Baby Girl was given “giggle juice” before she left us.  It was tylenol and some other drug to relax her so she was not screaming when she left us.  It was sad watching her leave us on the hospital bed.  But we knew she was in good hands.

The surgery itself was about 15 min at most. When we went to go see her she was crying quite a bit.  The nurse said this would happen because she was put under and she “woke up” and she was in a strange place, with strange people.  Baby Girl cried for about 45 min until she finally went to sleep in the car ride home.

When she woke up she was much better– but she slept alot which made her sleep cycle get off a little bit and she was ready to go at 4am this morning.  Cute little girl,  especially at 4am!

It has been a hectic week.  With the surgery and our car breaking down and just life in general.  I am reaching my breaking point, but I know I must go on.

I preached at the seminary which was good and I should be posting my sermon up today.  I would love to get feedback.

Today I have a presentation and paper due on Bonhoeffer’s Letters & Papers from Prison.  I really enjoy that book so it was not terribly hard to put together.   I used Life Together as well for my paper.  I really enjoy Bonhoeffer- I took a whole class on him my middler year!

Now I have to work on my sermon for Sunday.  I have preached on this text a few times before so I should not have a terrible time writing my sermon.

In other news there was a bomb set off in Times Square this morning.  When things like this happen, I always go back to the events surrounding 9/11. I don’t know why but my mind goes there and I start asking questions. Who did this? Why did they do it?  Do they know you did it?
I guess you can never really get into the head of someone.  If you are driven to the point of actually blowing something up there is something really wrong with you.  Is the 15 min of fame worth the lifetime of hardship or even possibility of death? I can’t imagine getting to that point in my life.  To be so angry at a person, place or even country that I want to see them dead.  But I guess if you add anger and a serious mental illness you can get to that point.  So sad………..

My mom and brother were [...]]]> I was not able to attend the National Convention this year. We are not far enough in our business to completely pay for something like this, but I know that next year we will see great things because there are pleanty of opportunities for us, and anyone else interested in Shaklee.

My mom and brother were able to go to the conference and from what my mom has told me there are great opportunities in the company.

I am excited and will talk more about new products –

I am sure most of you have heard me talk about this – if not I would love to spend 30 min talking about it. That’s all I will need and I am sure you will be hooked, like we have.

First I had to get new glasses. I think I mentioned Logan breaking my current pair. Well We went to sears and dropped a big bill to get a new pair. I could of simmed some things like trying to get just a new frame, getting a not so nice looking pair to save on costs or to not get the warranty but we got all of that. And in the end I am happy with our decision, it is going to be a little tougher money wise but things will be okay I think. If this pair can last until I get out of seminary then I will be happy.

I don’t know this thought is good or not but I think about alot of things “as long as this can last until after seminary we will be okay” It comes through our cars, funiture, health, life, ect. It is not like we are going to be rolling in the dough once seminary is over, but I can at least have a decent income, Katie can contineu her education part time and work full time and I have a feeling that our income will greatly increase while expenses will decrease or remain the same. My hope is that our car payment will be done and be replaced with stuent loans (same amount). Maybe this is my pipe dream but I hope not.

So my feet are not doing so well today. I have had some problems but I now have a gash on my heal and it hurts to walk. I wore my sandles yesterday and that might be a part of it. My sandles are crap, and I should not of worn them (isn’t hindsight great) but I did and now I have this problem. I wanted to work out this morning but I could not becuase of walking. So I cleaned up the house a bit and now I am going to do some school work. Maybe I can go swimming this afternoon, but I know the pool is crowded in the afternoon. As long as I go Saturday I will count this as my “day off”

I have to work on my Bonhoeffer paper this weekend. I am somewhat regreting a term paper vs. short papers during the year. But as long as I can bang out 7-8 pages this weekend I should be good. I am pretty confident I can do that. Tomorrow I should spend in the library for the majority of the day. I don’t have anything going on until tomorrow night when I have this stupid gospel choir concert to go too. I am not looking forward ot the concert. Granted I LOVE gospel music and I like what we are singing but I think it is the people behind the concert and how last year it was a big deal with the organizers using our class money for their personal amition saying it was a “class project” when in fact it was only four people doing it.

Lost was awesome last night!! There are so many things that were brought up and I think it is crazy!!! I can’t process it right now. I did do some research this morning and there were some great leads. I will fill everyone in as time goes on.

well I should get going but I hope to write more tonight.
